Marching Band Seasonon September 11, 2012 at 11:30 am
Marching season is in full swing! Is your band ready?
After a few brutal weeks of summer band camp, the weather has finally cooled down, the first day of school has come and gone, and the first marching competitions of the year are merely weeks away. Local competitions usually start up in October, but the first BOA/Music for All regionals begin on September 22. After a few weeks of regionals and super-regionals the Grand National Championships will be held in Indianapolis on November 7-10th.
The best part about this time of year is getting the opportunity to perform. You should know your part, and you should know the drill by now. All it comes down to is who can execute and who can perform the best. Everything else is icing on the cake. Getting to hang out with your band family every Saturday for a month straight, getting to meet other musicians from other schools, and getting to see all the great performances. So, enjoy yourself and good luck!
Will your band be competing in BOA or state competitions this year?
