Collateral Damage

It has always amazed me how expensive some instruments are…especially when musicians have to take out a loan in order to play music. However, the purchased marimba is not only a financial burden, but this thing is going to need some serious space in order to be usable. If, in fact, you do own your own marimba – you are livin’ the dream.

For those of us that can’t throw down the collateral for a marimba loan, there are other ways for a marimbist to get some good practice time in over the summer. If you were able to convince your band director to let you borrow one over the summer break, you are truly lucky in life. And you have a very trusting band director.
